The American Studies PhD Discussion Group

The American Studies PhD Discussion Group, inițiat în martie 2024 sub egida Centrului de Studii Americane, reunește doctoranzi ai Școlii Doctorale de Științe Umaniste ale căror proiecte de cercetare se înscriu în domeniul studiilor americane. Întâlnirile oferă un cadru pentru prezentarea cercetărilor în curs, discutarea unor probleme teoretice și metodologice și schimbul de feedback între doctoranzi și cadre didactice.

Launched in March 2024 under the auspices of the American Studies Center, the American Studies PhD Discussion Group brings together doctoral researchers from the Doctoral School of Humanities whose projects engage with American Studies. The meetings provide a forum for discussing ongoing research, theoretical and methodological questions, and work in progress.

13 December 2024 — Research Progress and Methodological Challenges

Doctoral researchers presented the current stage of their projects and discussed their original contributions to American Studies, methodological challenges, access to recent and relevant research, and the next stages of their dissertations. Presentations were followed by questions and collective discussion.

13 June 2024 — Work in Progress

Participants presented and discussed chapters from their doctoral dissertations, focusing on the development of their arguments and on questions arising at a more advanced stage of the research process.

29 March 2024 — Inaugural Meeting

The inaugural meeting established the general framework of the Discussion Group and gave participants the opportunity to introduce their doctoral projects and research interests.
